California Hand and Physical Therapy is seeking a Full or Part-Time Rehabilitation Aide to help our Physical and Occupational Therapists provide thoughtful personalized care to and empower our patients to heal and thrive. The environment in the Clinics is dynamic, so good communication skills are essential. Specialty areas include Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Hand therapy, Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, Pelvic Floor, Pilates, fall prevention, and workplace injuries. We promote patient well-being by restoring function, reducing pain, educating and strengthening in order to prevent injury. Responsibilities:

  • Reports to work as scheduled each day.
  • Keeps in constant communication with treating Therapist in order to receive instruction and direction for Patient care.
  • Assists and prepares patients for treatments.
  • Maintains patient confidence and keeps patient information confidential.
  • Maintains safe working environment by complying with Clinic’s procedures and rules, and government regulations.
  • Under the direction of Therapist, motivates and assists patients in their exercises and functional activities.
  • Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
  • Provides routine treatments, such as hot/cold packs, and other modalities such as Electrical stimulation, etc.
  • Cleans work area and equipment after treatment.
  • Washes linens/towels, folds and maintains linen cabinets.
  • Maintains restrooms and other areas in need of cleaning. Restocks with paper towels, tissue paper, soap and supplies.
  • Assists with document management, i.e. chart maintenance, filing, scanning, shredding.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma required
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required
  • Previous Aide experience preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of Physiology and Anatomy preferred
  • Interest in the Physical Therapy field
  • Course study in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Athletic Training, or Biology preferred but not required
  • Energetic and a team player
  • Able to demonstrate compassion toward and effectively communicate with patients
  • Detail-oriented and observant
  • Problem Solver with good judgement
  • Active listening skills and ability to take direction
  • Good communication skills
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking is preferred 

Salary: $16.00 – $18 per hour depending on experience
